Jeff Bezos’ neighbors share a common complaint about him

Residents living on the same street as Jeff Bezos have shared their experiences of living near the Amazon founder, and a common grievance has emerged among them.

When not managing the Amazon empire, Bezos resides at one of his numerous properties scattered throughout the United States.

Earlier this year, it was estimated that Bezos possesses an impressive 420,000 acres. He owns three houses in Miami and eight in Seattle, which is regarded as his previous primary residence.

“I’m planning to return to Miami, leaving the Pacific Northwest,” Bezos wrote on Instagram last year. “I’ve lived in Seattle longer than I’ve lived anywhere else and have so many amazing memories here. As exciting as the move is, it’s an emotional decision for me. Seattle, you will always have a piece of my heart.”

The 60-year-old explained his moving decision was influenced by a desire to be nearer to his parents and Blue Origin’s operations in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

“They recently moved back to Miami, the place we lived when I was younger (Miami Palmetto High class of ’82 — GO Panthers!) I want to be close to my parents, and Lauren and I love Miami. Also, Blue Origin’s operations are increasingly shifting to Cape Canaveral,” Bezos noted.

Prior to relocating, Bezos bought a $37.5 million waterfront estate in 2019, as reported by Business Insider. The property is situated in Hunts Point, an affluent neighborhood just outside of Seattle’s bustling area.

Hunts Point is described as a tight-knit community of fewer than 400 people, who often organize local events.

However, Bezos is reportedly absent from these gatherings, including Cleanup Day, where Hunts Point residents collaborate to pick up litter and plant trees.

Bezos has never been seen at this event.

“I’ve seen a billionaire pick up trash on Cleanup Day. Not Jeff Bezos,” one local told Insider.

Though Bezos may not often be at his residence, all his neighbors share the same complaint about him.

“Jeff Bezos acts like he owns Hunts Point,” one person mentioned to Insider, while another said: “He’s not much of a neighbor. He’s too busy with all this national stuff.”

Despite his absences, another resident revealed to Insider that Bezos had made charitable donations after a fundraising event at Hunts Point.

Additionally, one resident appreciated the increased security, stating: “We did feel a lot more secure knowing that he had all these people watching his property.”
