Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie Xo shares unexpected ‘choking’ side effect from facelift

Facelifts are often associated with tightening sagging skin and creating a fresher, younger look, but Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, has shared a glimpse into the tougher parts of recovery — including a sensation she described as feeling like she’s being “choked.”

Although Bunnie — who married Jelly Roll in 2016 — acknowledged the after-effects were the result of a choice she made herself, she stressed that knowing that doesn’t make the experience any more comfortable.

Six days after her procedure, the 46-year-old author posted an Instagram video of herself singing and dancing along to ‘Easy Lover’, while two other women appeared to try and hold her back.

She said she was battling “cabin fever” while staying inside to heal, adding that she’d watched “every 2000s movie” and had essentially been “liv[ing] in a recliner” during recovery.

And while a movie marathon might sound relaxing, she detailed symptoms that made it clear the days have been far from easy.

Over the clip, she wrote: “When it’s day 6 of your recovery you have cabin fever, watched every 2000s movie, can barely walk [without] being winded, live in a recliner, feel like you’re being choked from ear to ear & everyone keeps telling you day 7 is the best day but that’s tomorrow and you have lost all faith in humanity.”

She also added in her caption: “I kno, I did this to myself but damn.”

Facelifts can be performed in a few different ways, according to Cleveland Clinic. In Bunnie’s case, her surgeon, Daniel Gould, explained in his own video that she wanted to focus on a “little bit of heaviness and laxity in the neck,” which could help explain the tight, throat-area discomfort she mentioned.

He said she also aimed to “improve slightly the position of the cheek, add a little bit of volume back where she’s lost it before, clean up a little bit of the skin in the upper eyelids and to address the temples and the mid-face.”

Bunnie — author of the biography Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, — previously shared that one of the “main reasons” she moved forward with surgery was related to “old filler.”

She wrote: “I had stopped getting filler over 3 years ago in my face (I did have some in my lips tho), had it dissolved multiple times in my cheeks & it still was in my face.”

She continued: “It would be itchy, it would cause swelling in my cheeks & it continued to migrate to other places,” she continued. “Please take it from me, filler doesn’t dissolve in your body like we are told. So, in doing the lift we were able to take out a ton of it thankfully to Dr. [Daniel] Gould’s skilled hands!”

After the procedure, Dr. Gould told followers that Bunnie was “healing nicely.”
