Fans of Jenna Ortega are still reeling from witnessing the intense scenes she featured in a film released earlier this year.
Through her roles in Netflix’s Wednesday and the Scream franchise, Jenna Ortega has garnered a fanbase that spans various age groups.
However, these admirers were unprepared for the provocative nature of her scenes with British actor Martin Freeman in the 2024 film Miller’s Girl.
In this film, Ortega plays Cairo Sweet, a talented 18-year-old writer, who is mentored by her teacher Jonathan Miller, portrayed by Freeman.
The storyline primarily focuses on their relationship, skirting the boundaries of what is deemed appropriate in a student-teacher dynamic.
For those who have an unusual fascination with this pairing, the film might be a delight, but for many, it comes off as somewhat uncomfortable.
One notable scene in Miller’s Girl involves the two actors in a steamy interaction, though it is portrayed as characters within a story created by Sweet, rather than their actual film characters.
This, however, did not stop social media users from expressing their shock and discomfort at the actors… well, acting.
“Bro I did not need to see Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman getting it on on the tl,” one user wrote.
“MILLER’S GIRL SPOILER. This scene is f-ing crazy #jennaortega #MillersGirl,” another added.
“I feel very weird while watching this or it just me ?? sorry but not sorry bruh!” a third wrote.
While some users reacted with disgust, others found it amusing that people were so taken aback by a scene from an essentially erotic thriller drama.
“NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! Jenny Ortega, how dare you act such a scene. That’s it, You are grounded, grounded, grounded, grounded, grounded, grounded, grounded until the next season of Netflix Wednesday Series,” one frustrated fan wrote.
Another commented: “An erotic thriller starring Martin Freeman and Jenna Ortega lol like what were people expecting.”
“People know she’s 21 and she’s an actress right, she’s not a Wednesday,” another commented.
Regardless of the divided opinions, since its release, the movie has not fared well with fans or critics.
It currently holds a score of 29 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 42 percent audience score.
It doesn’t fare much better on IMDb either, with a score of only 5.2 out of 10.
