Jennifer Lawrence “came down hard” on film bosses after unauthorized crew members watched her nude scenes.
Lawrence, 34, made the revelation during the Oct. 28 episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, where she discussed her stance on protecting performers during intimate filming. The Oscar winner did not name which project the incident occurred on, though her first nude scenes appeared in the 2018 spy thriller “Red Sparrow.”
“There was an instance on set where crew members who weren’t approved when I was doing nudity were on set, and I came down hard on it,” Lawrence said on the podcast.

The “Silver Linings Playbook” star framed her intervention as a matter of setting industry standards for less established performers. “Purely because if we’re not setting that kind of principle at the level of which we’re doing it right now, you know, then what on earth is going to happen to an 18-year-old?” she continued.

Lawrence elaborated on the bind she imagined a young actress facing in similar circumstances. “If she shows up and there’s people that aren’t approved, she’s going to be in a position like, do I say something and get a reputation for being difficult?” she said. “Or do I just let these people that I’m not comfortable seeing me naked see me naked? So it was important to me to explain that to the people why that was not OK.”

The Kentucky-born actress has previously spoken about the psychological toll of having intimate images circulated without consent. In 2014, a hacker breached Apple’s iCloud system and leaked nude photos of Lawrence and other celebrities, including model Kate Upton, onto the message board 4chan.
Lawrence addressed that violation in a 2017 interview with the Hollywood Reporter, describing the rapid-fire release of the images. “When I first found out it was happening, my security reached out to me. It was happening minute-to-minute — it was almost like a ransom situation where they were releasing new ones every hour or so,” she said.
The “American Hustle” performer used stark language to convey her sense of exposure. “And, I don’t know, I feel like I got gang-banged by the f–king planet — like, there’s not one person in the world that is not capable of seeing these intimate photos of me,” she said at the time.

She characterized processing that experience as “so unbelievably violating” and “a really impossible thing to process.”

Lawrence’s “Call Her Daddy” comments arrive as she has taken on roles requiring nudity with increasing openness. In the 2023 comedy “No Hard Feelings,” she appeared fully nude in a beach confrontation scene that she later described as “hilarious” in its execution. She has also spoken about wanting to project a “sexy mom” image following her 2019 marriage to art dealer Cooke Maroney and the 2022 birth of their son.

The actress’s advocacy for closed-set protocols during nude filming aligns with broader industry movements toward intimacy coordination and performer protections, though she did not reference specific union guidelines or coordinators in the podcast conversation.
Lawrence’s next scheduled public appearance is a reunion event with “The Hunger Games” cast, where she will reflect on the franchise that launched her to global recognition.
