Jennifer Lopez faces backlash online after ‘rude’ Golden Globes moment goes viral

Jennifer Lopez’s behavior during the Golden Globes has come under scrutiny by social media users, who have labeled her actions at the glambot as ‘rude’.

The Golden Globes on January 11 was a star-studded event, with numerous celebrities taking advantage of the innovative Glambot, designed by Cole Walliser.

Walliser has been showcasing his rapid camera techniques at significant celebrity award shows over the past few years, gaining recognition for his work as a music video director.

During the Glambot segment, celebrities step onto a designated spot on the carpet and strike a quick pose as a camera swiftly moves past them from above.

The footage captured is then slowed down to reveal a stunning and glamorous effect.

Typically, stars engage with Walliser and exchange pleasantries while waiting for their turn, but viewers have criticized Lopez after her Glambot footage surfaced, citing her as ‘rude’.

The footage apparently shows her ignoring Walliser, leading to accusations of her being ‘rude’.

The TikTok video has been viewed over 28.1 million times, and users have criticized her behavior, with one commenting: “Am I tripping or did she not say a single word to that man?”

Another viewer stated: “She didn’t even speak to him!!!!!”

Someone else remarked: “She’s so rude bro.”

Two days following the release of JLo’s Glambot video, a clip featuring Olandria Carthen, a Love Island US 2025 contestant, was shared on the platform, prompting some to compare her demeanor to that of Lopez’s.

In her video, Carthen is seen warmly greeting Walliser, conversing, and seeking advice on how to make the most of her brief camera time.

Viewers praised her as ‘demure’ in the comments, suggesting Lopez could take notes from her approach.

One commenter noted: “Jlo you see how you say hi hello and thank you.”

Another added: “Jennifer could learn a few things from her,” while someone else commented: “See JLO that’s how a human behaves.”

However, numerous individuals came to Lopez’s defense, arguing that she was simply fulfilling her obligations at a hectic event.

A user on X stated: “Y’all are dragging this in this comments & I’m no big J. Lo fan but she greeted him, spoke & etc her words are in yellow on this video. She was just talking low.”

Another pointed out: “The red carpet is a job. All the celebs rush through it. She seems focused on getting a good pose/shot, but she did greet him.”

In fact, if you examine the subtitles on Walliser’s video, it’s evident that JLo does indeed say ‘hi’.

Lopez’s representatives have been contacted for comment.
