The long-running quiz show Jeopardy! is heading to streaming, and anyone hoping to compete can check their eligibility by taking an online test.
If you’ve always thought of yourself as someone with strong pop culture knowledge, the upcoming version of Jeopardy! could be right up your alley.
Netflix is launching a fresh take on the classic format, bringing in a new wave of players ready to put their trivia skills to the test.
The original Jeopardy! debuted all the way back in 1964, when it first aired on NBC.
This new series will be hosted by Colin Jost and is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on May 11. Episodes will arrive every weekday through June 5, under the title Pop Culture Jeopardy!.
Instead of broad general-knowledge clues, the questions will focus on pop culture themes, with categories including ‘Bummer Movie Endings’ and ‘Horror Made Wholesome’. The show will also use a tournament-style setup, with teams of two competing, leading to a major prize for the winners.

Those interested in appearing on the show can register to take a qualifying quiz online to gauge whether their knowledge meets the mark.
Basic eligibility is straightforward: you must be at least 18 years old and live in either the United States or Canada.
The test consists of 50 questions, and the site notes that completing it counts as “the first round of qualification” for potential contestants.
Participants are allowed to submit one test per year, with only a limited number of opportunities to send an entry.
Once your test is submitted, the next step is simply waiting — and if you’re selected, you could be contacted to attend an audition.

The questions are drawn from a large database, which is designed to prevent any two applicants from receiving the exact same set of clues.
After the quiz begins, you’ll have up to 15 seconds to answer each of the 50 prompts. There’s no restart option, so it’s best to begin only when you’re ready to go.
Suzanne Prete, president of game shows at Sony Pictures Television, said in a statement: “Pop Culture Jeopardy! captivated an audience with its fun and energetic game play, building on the beloved franchise and offering fans an opportunity to test their zeitgeist knowledge.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with the exemplary team at Netflix to bring more episodes to our passionate and loyal viewers.”
