Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker defended their kids’ toned physiques again after a new family beach post drew fresh attention.
The “Lose Control” singer, 38, and the former NFL wide receiver, 39, shared a joint Instagram post over the weekend showing their family of five during fall break in Florida. The first photo captured Jessie James, Eric, and their three eldest children — Vivianne, 12, Eric Jr., 11, and Forrest, 8 — all displaying visible abdominal muscles while posing at a local beach. Their youngest son, Denver, 2, appeared in the shot too, facing toward his father in Eric’s arms.

She pushed back directly in the comments section. “From one mother to another. Please don’t call my children’s appearance strange just because they don’t look the way you think they should. It’s unkind ❤️,” she responded to one critic. “It’s a sad world we live in today when having healthy fit kids who are super active, play sports [and] build muscle naturally is ‘weird,'” she wrote in reply to another commenter.
The “Dancing With the Stars” alum also rejected claims that she “overtrained” her children to achieve their muscular builds. The following January, she addressed the sustained backlash in an interview. “I couldn’t believe the reaction,” she said at the time, noting that there was “never one moment” when the Instagram trolls managed to “upset” her. She described herself as “confused” by the intensity of the online response to her kids’ bodies.
The Deckers have built a public brand around active family life, with both parents frequently sharing workout content and glimpses of their children’s sports activities. Eric spent eight seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans before retiring in 2018. Jessie James launched her music career as a teenager and has since released multiple country-pop albums while expanding into television and lifestyle ventures.
The family’s 2022 vacation photos that sparked the original controversy showed similar beach scenes with the children in swimwear, prompting speculation about editing and parenting choices. Jessie James’s responses then established the template she has continued to follow: direct engagement with critics, emphasis on natural athleticism through sports, and refusal to let commentary affect her family’s behavior.
