Jessie James Decker has broken her silence on the mid-air foot spray seen ’round the internet.
The country singer, 36, posted a video to her 4.4 million Instagram followers last week showing herself covering her nose as a bare foot rested on her airplane armrest, then dousing it with spray. The clip quickly ignited a social media firestorm over airplane etiquette and whether the foot belonged to a stranger or her husband, former NFL wide receiver Eric Decker, 37.
“Someone’s foot smells so bad on the plane,” the text over the video read.
Decker had one question for her audience. “Before you come at me…What would you have done?” she captioned the post.
The comment section erupted with opinions. “The nerve of some people!” one user fumed. Another cheered her on: “I’d do just what you did!!! Spray the stinky foot!!!”

One commenter called for a much harsher penalty, writing, “They should’ve been escorted off the plane.”
A self-described former flight attendant also criticized passengers who treat airplane armrests like personal footrests. “As a past flight attendant, when I saw people put their feet on the arm rest. I immediately told them no, this isn’t their home. Respect the plane & people around you. That is so F in nasty. I would have smacked his foot with my elbow.”
But speculation mounted that the foot might belong to Eric Decker, whom she married in 2013. “Please tell me that’s Eric’s foot and not some random person’s foot!” one commenter wrote. Another speculated, “I’m guessing that’s Eric’s foot? You are far too sweet to do that to a stranger…” A third user added, “That better be your husband. I would’ve moved!”
One follower was convinced the clip might have been a joke between the couple and wrote, “You’re being silly, right? It’s your husband behind you.”

Others offered their own creative solutions for dealing with a rogue foot in the cabin. “Tickle tickle!” one user suggested. Another joked, “I would’ve pulled out … [a] sharpie and started drawing.” A third commenter proposed, “You should have pretended to sneeze then sprayed his foot.”
Decker did not identify whose foot appeared in the video, leaving the mystery unresolved.
The “Secret Sauce” author and Eric share four children: Vivianne, Eric Jr., Forrest and Denver. The family has frequently shared glimpses of their life on social media, though this particular post struck a nerve with travelers who have strong opinions about personal space at 35,000 feet.

The incident taps into a broader conversation about airplane etiquette that regularly surfaces online, with passengers debating the unwritten rules of armrest ownership, seat reclining, and bare feet in shared spaces. Decker’s direct approach — documenting and spraying the offending foot rather than simply moving or ignoring it — offered her followers a chance to weigh in on where they stand.
The couple, who wed in 2013 after a whirlwind romance, have built a brand around their family life, with Eric’s football career and Jessie’s music and lifestyle ventures providing regular content. Whether the foot was his or not, the video succeeded in driving engagement and sparking the exact kind of debate Decker invited with her caption.

The “Wanted” singer has not posted a follow-up clarifying the foot’s owner.
