Jimmy Kimmel decided to try out a cognitive test that Donald Trump had previously claimed to have ‘aced,’ describing it as ‘not easy.’
During a speech last month focusing on the US economy, Trump took an unexpected turn by telling the audience in North Carolina about his experience with cognitive testing, stating, “I took cognitive tests because I know that, and by the way, not easy,” and mentioning that the test included identifying animal pictures correctly.
To challenge the notion that the test is difficult, Jimmy Kimmel filmed a segment for his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he underwent the same assessment.
In the episode, Kimmel sat with a doctor who explained that the cognitive test is typically administered to individuals aged 65 and older.
Kimmel was tasked with a variety of exercises, such as drawing a 3D cube, sketching a clock face, and placing the hands correctly to indicate the time.
Next, Kimmel identified animals from a series of pictures, accurately naming a lion, rhino, and camel, joking, “I just saw Zootopia, so I know all the answers,” as he effortlessly navigated through the test.
The test became slightly more challenging when Kimmel had to memorize a list of words for later recall and solve math questions involving subtracting seven from 100 repeatedly.
Despite these challenges, Kimmel excelled, achieving a perfect score of 30 out of 30 on the test.
At the Critics Choice Awards, after Jimmy Kimmel Live! was temporarily pulled by ABC due to complaints from affiliate station owners Nexstar and Sinclair, Kimmel addressed the situation with a pointed comment towards the president.
“And most of all, I want to thank our president, Donald Jennifer Trump, without whom, we would be going home empty-handed tonight,” Kimmel remarked on January 4.
He continued, “So thank you, Mr President, for all the many ridiculous things you do each and every day. It’s been a banner couple of weeks, and we can’t wait to get back on the air tomorrow night to talk about them. Thank you, everyone.”
