Joe Rogan has spoken out on the tragic shooting of Renee Nicole Good and the ICE operations, offering his candid thoughts.
In a segment from his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, which was uploaded to his YouTube channel, Rogan suggested that many Americans now perceive Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as ‘murderous military people’ and ‘villains’.
Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old American citizen and mother, was fatally shot by ICE officer Jonathan Ross in Minnesota on January 7, leading to widespread protests across the nation.
Following the incident, President Donald Trump stated that the ICE agent acted in ‘self-defense,’ claiming Good had ‘run over’ the officer. However, the video footage has been a point of contention among various parties.
During a conversation with Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, Rogan, 58, described the Minneapolis shooting as ‘horrific’.

Rogan commented: “After that woman was shot, unfortunately, I mean, everything’s unfortunate about it. But one of the real problems is now, ICE are villains. And now people are looking at them like murderous, military people, that run the streets of our city. And they’re masked up, which is also a problem, right, because if you get arrested by a cop, you’re allowed to ask the cop, ‘what is your name and badge number?’ And you could film that cop.
“But if you get arrested by an ICE agent, you have no such right, you’re wearing a mask, they don’t have to tell you s***. That’s a problem, that’s a problem on our city streets, right?”
Known for his straightforward opinions, Rogan, who endorsed Trump in the 2024 election, has previously criticized the current administration’s handling of the Epstein files.
He also voiced his dissatisfaction with how Good’s death was managed, telling Senator Rand Paul: “It’s complicated, obviously, but it’s also very ugly. To watch someone shoot a US citizen, especially a woman in the face.
“…It just looked horrific to me. When people say it’s justifiable because the car hit him, it seemed like she was turning the car away.”
He questioned: “Is there no other way to handle this?”
Rogan suggested that while ‘most people’ acknowledge the necessity of police, they also feel that ‘once somebody is here, they should be allowed to stay in this country, and ICE is operating illegally’. Furthermore, he warned that the anonymity of ICE agents could lead to impersonation and further illegal activities.

In the wake of the tragedy, Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, expressed to the Minnesota Star Tribune that her daughter ‘was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known’.
Conversely, Trump posted on Truth Social: “I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch.
“The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.”
The incident occurred just one mile from the location where George Floyd was killed by a police officer in 2020.
