John Leguizamo has addressed his supporters, particularly those backing the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Leguizamo has joined other celebrities in condemning ICE, especially in light of recent incidents in Minneapolis that have stirred public outrage following the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
Pretti was shot by a federal immigration officer on a Minneapolis street last week, a tragedy that followed the death of Renee Good, a mother of three, who was killed in her vehicle under similar circumstances.
Reports from the Guardian indicate that eight individuals have died in interactions with ICE since the beginning of 2026.
In response to Pretti’s death, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) labeled the shooting as an act of self-defense. However, video evidence from the moments leading up to his death did not show the nurse, who had a legal permit to carry a weapon, posing any threat.

CBS was informed by a Customs and Border Patrol representative that ‘two officers involved are on administrative leave’, which aligns with standard procedures.
Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security Secretary overseeing ICE and Border Patrol, was questioned about their practices after Good’s death earlier this month.
“We are following the exact same investigative and review process that we always have under ICE and under the Department of Homeland Security and within the administration,” Noem stated.
“The exact same policy that the Biden administration used, the exact same review, so we haven’t changed any of that.”
In the aftermath of Pretti’s demise, actor and comedian Leguizamo posted a video on Instagram urging his followers to stop following him if they support ICE.
“If you follow ICE, unfollow me,” he declared.

He further stated: “Don’t come to my shows and don’t watch my movies,” and captioned the video: “Abolish ice!”
Many followers quickly expressed their support for Leguizamo in the comments. One commented: “THANK YOU FOR YOUR VOICE!”
Another simply stated: “Abolish ICE.”

Other celebrities have also voiced their opinions following the incidents in Minneapolis this week.
Mandy Moore shared multiple statements and articles on social media, saying: “We have eyeballs. We’ve seen the video. They executed someone else. I’m not sure how this ends. This is terrifying territory.”
Ariana Grande reposted a tweet from New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, stating: “As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today. ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.”
Olivia Rodrigo added on social media: “ICEs actions are unconscionable but we are not powerless. our actions matter. I stand with Minnesota.”
