JoJo Siwa has hinted at wanting her boyfriend Chris Hughes to propose, following discussions on their potential engagement.
The two formed a close bond during their participation in Celebrity Big Brother in 2025.
Initially, Siwa and Hughes maintained a ‘platonic’ friendship on CBB last year, but later confirmed their romantic relationship.
Despite being together for less than a year, Siwa has indicated her interest in marriage by sharing a Snapchat story featuring her in a bridal gown, supposedly crafted using AI technology.
“Call me a wife!!!” the 22-year-old commented on the image, which showed her in an elegant wedding dress.
This comes after Siwa’s former partner Kath Ebbs stirred the internet by leading people to believe they were marrying Tilly Lucas-Rodd, before revealing it was a prank.
Before the holiday season, Hughes was asked by the Sun about any plans to present Siwa with a ring for their first Christmas together.
“Not just yet. You always get people who get engaged at Christmas. I see it on Instagram every year,” he mentioned.
“I like the idea of it not being at a time where it could be expected.”
The Love Island alum expressed his discomfort with the idea of Siwa proposing, following her jest about doing so if he didn’t propose within seven years.
“I don’t know,” the 33-year-old confessed. “I’ve spoken to people about this before you, obviously. And I actually said, ‘I think if I was proposed to, that would make me really uncomfortable’.”
Recently, concerns arose among fans when Hughes mentioned being ‘single’ on Celebrity MasterChef.
“So, I live on my own. I’ve been single for three years, so it’s not like I’m cooking for anyone,” Hughes explained. “If I’m just cooking for myself, no one can appreciate it, apart from me.
“It’s quite sad really, isn’t it? I need someone there to show off to in the kitchen, I’ve got the judges.”
These worries were dispelled when the BBC clarified that the MasterChef series featuring Hughes was filmed earlier in 2025, prior to his meeting with Siwa on Celebrity Big Brother.
