JoJo Siwa has recently addressed her breakup with Kath Ebbs after her stint on the UK reality TV program, Celebrity Big Brother.
Siwa, who embraces all pronouns, appeared on This Morning to discuss her journey and the revelations she had on the show, particularly her declaration of not identifying as a lesbian.
On Celebrity Big Brother, Siwa shared, “I think I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian. I think you…I think being here, I’ve realised I am not a lesbian, I’m queer. And I think that’s really cool—I’m switching letters! I’ve dropped the L and I’ve gone to the Q, baby! That’s what I love about sexuality.”
Following this revelation, Siwa’s partner, Ebbs, announced their separation on Instagram.
Siwa has since opened up about her evolving feelings during her reality show experience, stating: “When I went into the house… day one and day two were fine. But on day three, I was away from anyone I knew and outside opinions.”
She continued, “I sat with myself with things I was okay with in my life, that I should have never been okay with. I wanted to hold that inside and didn’t want to air that publicly. I was not happy.”
Expressing how she felt she was “pretending things were great,” Siwa acknowledged her desire to “fix things in [her] life and make the changes” immediately after leaving the Big Brother house.
“It’s 20 days but feels like four and a half years and as soon as you get out you want to make it right. I was pretending things were great.”
In an online video, Ebbs described their experience of attending a live Big Brother show to support Siwa, only for things to unexpectedly change.
They recounted, “But before I could even get back to the hotel I… it’s actually crazy… I went to the afterparty with my now ex, and was dumped in the party.”
“I was told there were confused feelings there and they had realised in the house I wasn’t the person they wanted to spend the foreseeable with.”
During her recent interview, Siwa addressed the breakup at the Celebrity Big Brother wrap party, explaining it “was not intentionally supposed to happen like that.”
“They straight up asked me if I was happy and I said ‘no’, then one thing lead to another,” Siwa explained.
She also discussed her relationship with fellow Celebrity Big Brother participant Chris Hughes, clarifying that their bond is “platonic.”
