Kath Ebbs, who previously dated JoJo Siwa, has spoken out again about their breakup roughly a year after they parted ways, following Siwa’s stint on Celebrity Big Brother UK.
While on the ITV series, Siwa, 22, developed a notably close bond with Chris Hughes, 33, best known for appearing on Love Island UK. Siwa ended the season in third place, while Hughes finished sixth.
At the time filming aired, Siwa was still in a relationship with Ebbs, who had travelled to London to support her return from the house. Viewers, however, began speculating when Ebbs appeared less active online as Siwa and Hughes’ on-screen friendship intensified.
Soon after, Ebbs alleged the relationship ended abruptly at the show’s afterparty. Although Siwa and Hughes maintained during the series that their connection was purely platonic, the pair later confirmed their friendship had turned romantic, and they remain together.
Ebbs, who uses they/them pronouns, has also moved forward, announcing an engagement to Tilly Lucas-Rodd around six months after the split.
Even so, Ebbs used Instagram Stories to mark the breakup anniversary with a series of pointed posts aimed at Siwa.

In the first post, Ebbs reposted the original breakup reel alongside the caption, “Happy one year anniversary to her x.”
They then shared a photo kissing their fiancée’s cheek, but added a line that appeared to reference Siwa: “Sending hate to your cheating ex day!!”
Ebbs continued with another message that also addressed online criticism they say they received after the breakup.
Posting a photo lying on the beach with their middle finger pointing to the camera, the star penned: “And to all those moles on the internet that trolled me for getting literally cheated on. Therapy bills getting mailed to you losers xx.”
Following the breakup last year, Siwa disputed claims of cheating while speaking with Nick Viall on his podcast The Viall Files. “There’s so many reasons why my breakup happened. Christopher is not one of them,” Siwa told Viall.
“I understand Chris and I are very tight,” she added. “Don’t paint it out to look like I cheated on you with him because I did not… I would not, and I have not.”

Meanwhile, Siwa and Hughes have appeared unfazed by the renewed attention, recently marking a year since they first met on the programme.
On April 7, Siwa surprised Hughes with a performance of her new single, Serendipity, which was filmed as part of the track’s music video.
As described in the behind-the-scenes setup, Hughes—joined by Siwa’s parents—didn’t know he was walking into a filmed moment, and believed he was simply meeting Siwa to attend a show.
“That was unbelievable!” he said after the performance. “I still have no idea what’s going on!”
Later, Siwa posted about the milestone on Instagram, writing: “A year ago today, we said our first hello, our first hug, our first laugh… the beginning of so many. So forever grateful to the walls of that house.”
