Jon Bon Jovi has been recognized as a hero for persuading a woman to step down from a bridge ledge.

The renowned singer was reportedly filming a music video on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville, Tennessee, for his song ‘The People’s House’ when he noticed the distressed woman, according to The New York Post.

Footage released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shows Bon Jovi and another individual cautiously approaching the woman, who was standing on the opposite side of the railings.

The woman accompanying the singer gently holds the distressed woman as they converse, eventually helping her to climb back over the railing.

Bon Jovi continues to console the woman and then gives her a warm hug.

The video concludes with Bon Jovi and the woman walking away from the bridge together.

Nashville Police posted the clip on social media, commending Bon Jovi for his efforts in rescuing the woman, who they described as ‘distraught’.

“A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night,” a tweet shared yesterday (September 11) from the Nashville PD’s official account reads.

“Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety.”

Quoting Chief John Drake, the post added: “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe.”

Many have since lauded the singer, with some even calling him a ‘hero’.

“Jon Bon Jovi greatest rock star in the world and now hero,” one individual wrote.

Another person said: “This moved me to tears. In a time of such division and hardship, I can truly feel the love in his actions.

“Well done, @jonbonjovi. A beautiful example of empathy and kindness.”

“I couldn’t love this man more,” another person exclaimed. “The best of the best. A true hero and an amazing human.”

Some also acknowledged the contributions of the other woman who assisted Bon Jovi.

“This is pretty amazing, but Jon wasn’t alone. The lady with him did an awful lot, too,” one commenter noted.

As of now, Bon Jovi has not addressed the incident on his social media platforms.
