Josh Hutcherson’s great-grandmother had quite the unexpected experience when she witnessed him filming an orgy scene for a television show.
For actors like Hutcherson, filming such explicit scenes might just be part of the job. However, it can be a bit more challenging if your great-grandma happens to be present on set during the shoot…
This unusual scenario unfolded for The Hunger Games star when his elderly relative visited him during the filming of his TV series Future Man, which holds an impressive 91 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In Future Man, Hutcherson takes on the role of Josh Futturman, joined by Eliza Coupe (known for Scrubs and Happy Endings) and Derek Wilson (known for The Boys and Birds of Prey).
Currently, Hutcherson stars in a new series titled I Love LA, which also features some intimate scenes.

During the premiere, Hutcherson shared that he’s not overly concerned about his family viewing his steamy scenes in the new show, as it’s nothing they haven’t encountered before.
He told Variety: “I’ve been involved in some questionable scenes over the years, even ones that my great-grandma has witnessed. She was on set for an orgy scene in Future Man.”
“I didn’t anticipate her visit coinciding with that particular shoot,” Hutcherson explained. “She had planned to be there regardless. She’s a very supportive great-grandma.”
He described the experience as ‘comedic’ and recounted his great-grandma’s humorous reaction.
The 33-year-old actor shared: “I was not fully clothed. Grandma remarked, ‘You know, it’s fiction. Very interesting, your job, Joshua.’
Future Man ran for three seasons, with its final episodes airing in 2020. Although it was initially available on streaming platforms like Disney+ and Hulu, it was removed following a series of cuts in 2023, as reported by ScreenRant.
However, if you’re interested in seeing the scene Hutcherson mentioned, all three seasons are now available on Prime Video.
Interestingly, some critics found the second season to be an improvement over the first.
One reviewer commented: “Very rarely is a second season better than the first, but Future Man season 2 comes close to matching the quality of season 1. A must-watch!”
Another fan stated: “One of the greatest comedy sci-fi series of all time.”
With a total of 34 episodes to enjoy, Future Man might just become your next series to binge-watch.
