A journalist is revealing details of a now-viral interview she conducted with Blake Lively.
In 2016, Kjersti Flaa interviewed Lively and her co-star Park Posey to promote their film Cafe Society.
Flaa chose not to upload the interview at the time because it made her feel ‘uncomfortable’.
Now, eight years later, Flaa has decided to share the interview on YouTube, highlighting what she describes as Lively’s ‘shocking’ behavior.
During the interview, Flaa congratulated Lively on her pregnancy. At that point, the Simple Favor actress was expecting her second child, Inez, with husband Ryan Reynolds.
“Congrats on your little bump,” Flaa remarked, to which Lively replied: “Congrats on your little bump.”
However, Flaa was not pregnant at the time.
When Flaa asked about the wardrobes in Cafe Society, Lively responded: “I wonder if [reporters] would ask the men about the clothes?”
Since Flaa posted the video on YouTube, it has garnered nearly two million views.
Flaa has received a wave of support in response to the video, for which she has expressed her gratitude.
Reflecting on the interview, Flaa described it as ‘traumatizing’.
In an interview with Mail Online, the 51-year-old journalist said: “It was such a traumatizing experience to me. I was there to do a job and they made sure to make it as difficult as possible for me to do that.”
“I was there so they could promote a movie. I was invited to meet them. It certainly did not feel like that.
“I felt belittled and ignored and it made me question if I ever wanted to do these types of interviews again.”
Flaa also mentioned, “It took me a while to get over it and build up my confidence again.”
Adding to her distress, Flaa disclosed to the publication that she has never been able to conceive, making Lively’s comments particularly painful.
She described Lively’s retort as ‘like a bullet’ and said she couldn’t wait for the interview to end. To this day, she remains unsure why the two stars behaved the way they did.
The resurfacing of the video comes amid rumors of tension between Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni during filming.
