A brazen thief broke into Kim Kardashian’s Hidden Hills mansion on Sunday afternoon and stole one of her luxury vehicles for a joyride.
Deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station were called to the home Sunday afternoon for reports of a suspect who had broken in.
Upon arrival, deputies found a male suspect inside the residence and arrested him for burglary and vehicle theft.
The suspect had allegedly taken one of Kardashian’s vehicles and driven it around the neighborhood, law enforcement said.
Kardashian and her kids have been living in a nearby rental for months while the mansion undergoes renovations.
It does not appear she was home or on the property when the incident happened.
Kardashian and her ex-husband first bought the estate for $20 million back in 2014 and put significant work into it, not actually moving in until renovations were completed in 2017.
The couple’s home has been a major project for the reality star.
Kardashian and her four kids remained in the home after the couple finalized their divorce in 2022.
The property is located in a gated community known for its exclusive celebrity residents.
The burglary marks another security incident targeting high-profile individuals in the Hidden Hills area, which has seen various breaches over the years despite enhanced security measures in the gated community.
In the viral moment of Sunday’s incident, deputies discovered the male suspect inside the $60 million+ residence after responding to a break-in call in the afternoon. The suspect had not only breached the home but also helped himself to one of Kardashian’s luxury vehicles, taking it for a neighborhood joyride before law enforcement arrived on scene. Upon discovery, the man was immediately arrested for burglary and vehicle theft, with the vehicle later recovered from the neighborhood.
Kardashian’s family is currently staying at a nearby rental property while the Hidden Hills mansion undergoes significant renovations.
