Justin Trudeau had his hands all over Katy Perry in the South of France in the name of sun safety.
The former prime minister of Canada was applying Katy Perry’s sunscreen, going fully under her dress to protect the girls.
The move got some giggles out of the group, including Katy, as they went out on the water to soak up some sun, and the legendary lovers also enjoyed some wholesome moments during the adorable outing, like posing for a selfie while they smiled ear-to-ear.
They kept things cute for their fun-filled day in France, with Katy in an aqua dress and Trudeau in a button-down shirt and pants.
The couple has been openly flaunting their romance all over social media for months.
At a Tribeca Film Festival event in June, Perry declared “I am very in love,” calling Trudeau “the love of my life” and saying she “felt very anchored by” her relationship with him despite the chaos of touring.
Perry has been candid about how the romance changed her.
“I just kept going, because I made a promise to my fans, I made a promise to my daughter, I made a promise to myself.”
Sources close to the pair say they are “quite taken with each other.”
“In addition to the attraction, they are both smart and love to talk about serious issues,” a Canadian source told People.
The relationship came as a surprise to many.
“He’s shown her over and over again that he genuinely wants to see her. He’s flown all over the world to spend time with her while she toured.”
Perry’s connection to Trudeau marks a major shift from her previous romantic interests.
During a London performance last year, she made her feelings known on stage.
“London, England, you’re like this on a Monday night after a whole day at work and a whole day at school? No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time… but not anymore.”
The comment came shortly after she and actor Orlando Bloom ended their engagement.
In the viral moment that first sparked dating rumors, Perry and Trudeau were spotted dining together at Montreal’s Le Violon restaurant in late July last year. An eyewitness told outlets they enjoyed cocktails and shared several dishes, including one with lobster. Two days later, Trudeau was spotted in the crowd at Perry’s Lifetimes Tour concert at the same city’s Belle Centre venue, attending with his teenage daughter.
The pair’s relationship became more serious in the months that followed, as they were photographed together on Perry’s yacht off California and eventually made their first official public appearance in October at the Crazy Horse Paris cabaret for Perry’s 41st birthday celebration.
Trudeau accompanied Perry to the premiere of her Lifetimes Tour concert film at the Tribeca Festival in New York City.
Perry is scheduled to headline European music festivals throughout the rest of July.
