Kai Trump Reveals the Trait She Inherited From Donald Trump and Whether Politics Is in Her Future

Kai Trump has built a large online following by giving viewers a glimpse into her day-to-day life, and she’s now speaking more openly about what comes next. While she says she shares some traits with her grandfather, her long-term plans are headed in a very different direction.

The 19-year-old is getting ready to start at the University of Miami, where she will compete in Division I golf for the Hurricanes’ 2026-27 season. But athletics is only one part of what she has planned.

Alongside golf, Kai has also established herself as a major social media personality. She now has millions of followers across TikTok and YouTube, where she posts content about her life and what it’s like to be part of President Donald Trump’s family. Recently, she also shared a tour of the White House ahead of the Freedom 250 UFC Match.

Even though her path looks nothing like her grandfather’s, Kai said she believes she inherited her strong competitive streak from him, something that naturally fits with high-level sport.

“My mom’s competitive too, but definitely, grandpa is very competitive,” she told FOX.

Just a day earlier, Kai also appeared at the ESPYs and told another outlet that politics is “not my thing,” saying she prefers to stay focused on her own life and golf.

That said, she made it clear there is one arena she has no interest in entering.

“No politics ever?” the hosts asked.

“No, never for me,” she laughed.

Kai also spoke about her mother, Vanessa Trump, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May. Vanessa later said in June that she had been recovering from surgery and was preparing for the next phase of treatment. In her latest update, Kai said her mother has been coping with the effects of treatment but continues to push through.

“She’s doing better. Obviously radiation takes a toll on your body but she’s been doing better and feeling better. She’s a fighter.”

Vanessa, 48, previously addressed her diagnosis in May. The former wife of Donald Trump Jr. said she was working with her medical team to determine the best course of treatment.

“I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t the news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my team on a treatment plan.”

She also said she was ‘surrounded by the love and support of her family’ and ‘kindly asked for privacy to focus on her health and recovery’.

In another update shared in June, Vanessa said she was recovering after surgery and expected to begin the second phase of treatment soon.

Kai is set to leave for college in three weeks, marking the first time she will be living away from her family.
