Kaley Cuoco’s Sharp Reply to Ashley Tisdale’s ‘Toxic’ Mom Group Controversy

Actress Kaley Cuoco has shared her perspective on the ongoing controversy surrounding the ‘toxic’ mom group drama.

The year 2026 began with a stir when Ashley Tisdale disclosed in an essay for The Cut that she had distanced herself from her ‘toxic mom group’.

The High School Musical actress explained she started to feel ostracized and seemingly ‘excluded’ within the group.

Ultimately, this prompted her to sever ties, as she expressed: “This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore,” though she acknowledged that this decision ‘didn’t exactly go over well’.

While the 40-year-old did not name specific individuals, she emphasized that she ‘never considered the moms to be bad people’, but felt their interactions were no longer ‘healthy’.

Despite this, social media users speculated on whom she might have been referring to, with guesses primarily pointing to Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor, and Mandy Moore, although Tisdale’s representative dismissed these claims.

The

Kaley Cuoco appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday (February 5), where she was asked to comment on the issue.

She responded: ā€œI mean if you don’t like being part of a group, just leave, baby, I don’t think we have to talk about it. Find a new group,ā€ a sentiment Cohen echoed with “Right?”

The Big Bang Theory actress further remarked: “I don’t think we have to talk about it.”

Cohen added humorously: “Like, write an essay about it.”

“You don’t have to do that,ā€ Cuoco stated. “Just leave … find a new group.”

Following the essay’s publication, Meghan Trainor, who was speculated as one of the involved moms, addressed the situation on TikTok.

In a video of her using a computer with her song ‘Still Don’t Care’ playing, she wrote: “Me finding out about the apparent mom group drama.”

Other reactions continued to emerge.

Hilary Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, seemingly addressed the situation by posting on Instagram, mimicking Tisdale’s look for The Cut, with a message: “When You’re The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.”

His caption cheekily stated: “Read my interview with @thecut.”

Meanwhile, Trainor’s husband, Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara, told TMZ when approached: “No drama over here, just trying to keep the kids happy.”

He admitted he wasn’t fully aware of the details but expressed hope that Tisdale was ‘OK, though’.
