Kamila Valieva had a successful run at the 2023 Russian Figure Skating Championships this month, taking home the silver medal in the women’s senior championship division.
The 16-year-old athlete impressed viewers with her move-for-move recreation of Jenna Ortega’s viral Wednesday Addams dance from the hit Netflix series.
Valieva dressed as Wednesday, complete with pigtails and the ruffled dress the character wore to the school’s dance in the show’s fourth episode.
Video of her performance quickly went viral on social media following the competition, which ran from Dec. 22 through Dec. 25.
Valieva, who even went so far as to paint her hand to resemble the character, skated to music from the movie, including Danny Elfman’s theme and The Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck”.
Valieva’s free skate earned the top spot, but when combined with her short program, she was narrowly beaten by 15-year-old rival Sofia Akateva.
