Kanye West has shared his thoughts following the revealing outfit choice of his wife, Bianca Censori, at the Grammys last night (February 2).
The 67th Grammy Awards, held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, saw the couple, married for two years, making a statement on the red carpet. West was dressed in an all-black ensemble including shades, while Censori’s outfit took a daring turn.
Initially, the Australian model appeared wearing a bold black coat that complemented her husband’s attire. However, upon revealing what she wore underneath, it was a mesh, skin-tight slip-on with no visible undergarments.
Censori confidently showcased her outfit while holding hands with West, marking her first Grammy red carpet appearance in a memorable fashion. The daring outfit choice has sparked a mix of reactions, with some expressing concerns that it could potentially lead to legal issues.
Amidst the discussions surrounding their red carpet appearance, West chimed in with a comment that invoked another celebrity’s legacy.
Most will recall the infamous moment from 2009 when West interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Music Awards, asserting that Beyoncé deserved the award instead.
After their recent appearance, West shared a series of now-deleted polaroid pictures, featuring shots of his wife and the couple kissing, with the caption: “Love Story.”
Fans of Swift will recognize the nod to her song of the same name in those two words.
Despite the backlash Censori faced online over her outfit, this isn’t unfamiliar territory for the model.
Censori, who also collaborates with West on his Yeezy clothing line, is no stranger to making headlines with her sometimes daring fashion choices.
Online reactions varied, with one person stating: “I hope the ‘it’s fashion’, ‘it’s self-expression’ people shut the f**k up now. How is this not indecent exposure or something?”
Another commented: “Bianca Censori wearing absolutely nothing but a single piece of completely sheer mesh, no underwear or anything, to the Grammys and posing on the red carpet like that is insane. And I can’t help but think Kanye has a lot to do with that decision.”
However, there were also voices of support for Censori’s outfit, with one admirer noting: “I love Bianca Censori’s look and if we weren’t a society so concerned with policing women we could get into how bad she served!! This is fashion this is art truly.”
