Kanye West is well known for stirring up controversy.
Recently, he has been in the spotlight following his wife, Bianca Censori’s appearance at the Grammys, where she donned a see-through dress without any underwear.
According to West, Censori quickly became one of the most searched individuals on the internet, while he himself opted for a more modest outfit for the event.
Adding to the controversies, West has been leveraging his purported friendship with Donald Trump, whom he has supported during Trump’s presidency.
Meanwhile, music icon Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently detained without bail as he awaits trial in May.
He faces severe charges such as racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and facilitating prostitution, all of which he refutes.
Despite seeking bail, a judge in New York has denied Combs’ requests, labeling him as a significant flight risk.
West has now taken to social media to advocate for Combs’ release, tagging Trump in a tweet that read: “PLEASE FREE MY BROTHER PUFF.”
In another explicit post, West called Combs his ‘hero’ and ‘idol’, writing: “THEY TRYNA PROVE A POINT AND YALL KNOW THAT. YALL F***ING KNOW THAT AND SITTING LAUGHING AT THE F***ING INTERNET ON INSTAGRAM. THIS MAN GAVE HIS LIFE TO US. THIS MY IDOL. THIS MY HERO.”
West also tweeted: “PUFF GET ONE CALL A MORNING.”
In addition to criminal charges, Combs is facing multiple civil suits from alleged victims.
An adult entertainer from Las Vegas recently filed a claim stating Combs compelled him to ‘perform acts that were outside the scope of the agreed-upon performance and limitations set by plaintiff and his agency’.
The lawsuit alleges Combs ‘dehumanised plaintiff and reduced him to a mere object for Combs’ own amusement and to satisfy his own sexual fetishes.’ It further accuses Combs of exploiting the plaintiff, keeping him under control through secretive surveillance and filming.
Combs’ legal representative has denied these additional accusations against the music mogul.
His lawyer told Rolling Stone: “No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex-trafficked anyone – man or woman, adult or minor.
“Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to separate fact from fiction, and Mr Combs is confident that he will prevail in court.”
