Kate Hudson opened up on whether actors get ‘aroused’ while filming sex scenes

Ever caught yourself wondering if actors get a little too turned on during those sizzling on-screen moments? Well, you’re not alone, and yes, we’ve finally got some tea on that!

Meet Kate Hudson – you might recognize her from hits like “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days” and “Bride Wars,” and yep, she’s had her fair share of steamy scenes.

So, when British rapper Stormzy got curious about the same thing during their chat on the Jonathan Ross Show, Kate did not hold back with her insights.

Here’s the scoop: Stormzy shared his own nerves about shooting a sex scene for his music video ‘Hide & Seek,’ saying, “Me and the team said it needs to be a high standard actor. I’m a rubbish actor.

“The idea of me going on set with someone that’s awkward and I’m awkward… We got Saffron [Hocking] in and she’s a true professional. She made me really comfortable and led the whole thing.”

Fueled by his own experiences, Stormzy turned to Hudson and asked straight up: “When I see sex scenes I’m like, ‘How do you lot do that?’ Can there be… arousal… everyone’s thought it!”

Kate Hudson laughingly responded, shedding light on the not-so-sexy reality of filming those scenes, “I think it’s so mechanical and there’s so many people around. Usually they close the set and you kind of have to talk it out and the boys wear belts. It’s very… tucked. It kind of takes the fun out of it, I guess.”

“Sometimes it’s more enjoyable than other times. It just depends on the circumstance and the safety that you feel with that actor and how safe the space feels. It can get awkward.”

Despite her experience with these on-screen romances, Kate revealed on the podcast Call Her Daddy that she actually took a break from men entirely upon advice from her therapist.

“I couldn’t give them my number,” she explained about her year off from flirting and dating. “He’s like get off the sauce,” she added, highlighting how it helped her avoid repeating old patterns.

Looks like whether it’s off screen or on, navigating personal and professional relationships can be quite the scene!
