Kate Winslet shares explicit request from Eminem during SNL appearance

Kate Winslet recently shared a remarkable anecdote from her time hosting Saturday Night Live in 2004, featuring none other than Eminem.

During her appearance on the Graham Norton Show, Winslet recounted an unexpected story from over two decades ago, highlighting an experience with the rapper Eminem.

She described the tense moments leading up to her SNL hosting gig, which were complicated by her hectic schedule, leaving her unable to participate in rehearsals, particularly for the opening monologue.

With just a day before the live show, Winslet finally had a conversation with the showrunners, who inquired about her abilities in singing, dancing, and even tap dancing.

Winslet humorously admitted on Norton’s show that she grew apprehensive about what she had agreed to and the potential tasks they might assign her.

She shared: “When I was on, it was the week after Ashlee Simpson was done for lip-syncing. I’m then on with Eminem.

“They gave me 24 hours to learn [Fred Astaire’s song ‘Pick Yourself Up’].

“I am tap dancing and singing fully live the week after the whole Ashlee Simpson thing.”

But the story took an even stranger turn when Winslet detailed a bold request from Eminem that she had to turn down.

She recounted: “Also I have to say something else, and this is a story I have never ever told. Eminem asked me to shave his bottom.

“He said ‘would you shave my but?’ and I said I am sorry, I don’t do personal grooming, like what.

“I’m not going to go with a [razor] and get your crack love, honestly. I have never told that story before in my life in public, there you go.”

The revelation drew bewildered looks and laughter from Norton and the other guests, including British comedian Alan Carr, SNL writer and star Seth Meyers, and former New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern.

Despite Winslet’s humorous recounting, social media users found the rapper’s alleged request quite peculiar.

One person commented: “Holy moly, that’s a story.”

Efforts have been made to reach out to Eminem’s representatives for their response.
