Katy Perry has addressed the conspiracy theories suggesting she might be JonBenét Ramsey.
JonBenét Ramsey passed away in 1996 at the age of six.
Her body was discovered in the basement of her family’s Boulder, Colorado home, leading to her death being classified as a homicide. Despite nearly three decades passing, JonBenét’s killer remains unidentified.
The case gained renewed attention with the release of the Netflix documentary “Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey” last year.
John Ramsey, JonBenét’s father, remains hopeful that advancements in modern technology could help identify her killer.
Some, however, propose a theory that JonBenét never died and it was all a fabrication.
A particularly bizarre suggestion is that Katy Perry, known for her hit “Firework,” is actually JonBenét.
This theory surfaced online around 2014, according to US Weekly, claiming that Perry’s true parents are Patsy and John Ramsey.
The resemblance between the singer and JonBenét is thought to be the basis for this unfounded theory.
Despite Perry’s usual dark hair, she naturally has lighter hair, which fuels the speculation.
However, theorists overlook the fact that Perry is five years older than JonBenét; she will be turning 40 in October 2024.
In response to an AI-generated video morphing a photo of JonBenét into her, Perry commented on social media: “Wait am i.”
The murder investigation continues, with a significant lead emerging last year.
Following the success of the 2024 Netflix documentary on JonBenét’s case, her father received a letter from a woman alleging her husband was responsible for the murder.
Additionally, the FBI has developed a profile of the suspected killer, characterizing him as a man in his 20s or 30s who was fascinated by movies.
DNA was discovered on JonBenét’s body, but authorities were unable to identify the source.
In 2008, NBC News reported that JonBenét’s immediate family—her parents and brother Burke—were officially cleared of any involvement in her murder.
