A watch stolen from Keanu Reeves’ residence has surfaced over 5,000 miles away in Chile.
On December 8, 2023, Reeves’ Los Angeles home was burglarized. According to a spokesperson from the Los Angeles Police Department, the intruders “entered the property through the backyard and broke a rear window to gain access.”
The initial break-in occurred around 7 pm, and police reportedly had to revisit the property a few hours later due to a second incident, as reported by TMZ.
Among the items taken was a firearm, and it has now been disclosed that a Rolex watch belonging to the Matrix actor was also stolen.
More than a year after the burglary, the watch has been discovered by law enforcement in Chile following a series of house raids.
Chilean authorities have collaborated with American law enforcement to locate the stolen items.
The recovered watch is a Rolex Submariner, valued at over $10,000 (£8,050), according to Rolex’s website.
Authorities identified the watch as belonging to Reeves due to an engraving on its back that reads “2021, JW4, thank you, The John Wick Five,” as reported by CNN.
It is believed that Reeves presented Rolex Submariners to the stuntmen he worked alongside in John Wick: Chapter 4.
Additionally, two more watches owned by Reeves were found following raids on four homes.
A 21-year-old man has been apprehended in connection to the theft.
Regrettably, the John Wick actor’s home has been targeted by burglars multiple times over the years.
In 2014, his property was broken into twice within four days.
The first incident took place on September 14, when a woman in her 40s was detained and subsequently taken to a medical facility for evaluation, according to CNN.
Reeves reportedly encountered the intruder in his library.
Three days later, another woman reportedly entered the property after the gates were left open due to construction work.
The intruder was discovered using the Hollywood actor’s swimming pool.
Described as “erratic,” the second woman was also taken to a medical facility for assessment.
Despite the unsettling incidents, Reeves seemed largely unfazed at the time, describing the experience as an “interesting weekend.”
In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight a month after the incidents, he remarked: “Everybody’s OK, which is nice. All’s well that ends well.
“It was certainly surprising, four in the morning, Saturday, and having an uninvited guest. But it just happened, and everybody’s OK.”
