Kelly Clarkson had her Las Vegas audience in stitches this weekend after interrupting her residency set to recount an extremely personal and painfully funny health scare that unfolded after one of her shows.
During a performance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for her Studio Sessions residency, the singer opened up about a miserable bathroom emergency that struck after she left the stage, explaining it in the kind of brutally honest way only Clarkson can.
The moment came as Clarkson returned to the Las Vegas stage for one of the newly added 2026 dates of her residency, which has continued alongside the release of her latest single, “I’d Be Lyin’.”
As clips from the night spread online, fans quickly latched onto the moment she began laughing through the story and trying to make sense of what had happened to her.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” Clarkson joked on stage while laughing hysterically alongside the roaring crowd, as seen in viral videos shared across social media.
“I don’t know if I got that thing that people, like, eat lettuce s—. I don’t know, okay? I don’t know what the f—.”

Clarkson appeared to be referring to cyclosporiasis, an intestinal illness caused by the Cyclospora parasite that can sometimes be linked to contaminated produce, including lettuce and other raw vegetables. Federal health officials have recently investigated a multistate outbreak tied to shredded iceberg lettuce, underscoring why the topic has been in the headlines.
Acting out the moment on stage, she described realizing during the previous night’s performance that something was going very wrong.
“Last night during the show, I was like, ‘oh my god, Jesus.'”
She then joked that the aftermath at her hotel left her especially grateful not to be sharing the room with a romantic partner.
“I had never been so happy that there was not a man in the room, because he would never make sweet love to this again,” Clarkson quipped.
When the crowd reacted loudly, Clarkson pushed the story even further by comparing it to the infamous food-poisoning scene from Bridesmaids.
“Bridesmaids ain’t got s— on what happened. And you know the part where you think it’s over, where you’re like, it has to be over? No, girl!”
She even ran across the stage to illustrate the chaos, before turning her attention to the comforts of her hotel bathroom.
“They have, like, warm toilets for you here. Oh, I’ll be single ‘til I’m dead. It’s fine. I’m gonna find another weird motherf—er out there.”
The candid exchange came as Clarkson launched the newest stretch of her Las Vegas residency and continued promoting her latest pop-rock release, “I’d Be Lyin’.”
Although the weekend featured the powerhouse vocals fans expect from her, it was this unfiltered and wildly self-aware story that ended up becoming one of the standout moments of the night.
