Kelly Osbourne shares fiery response to weight loss critics while discussing eating challenges after Ozzy’s passing

Growing up as the daughter of a legendary rock musician and public figure posed challenges for Kelly Osbourne, but coping with the loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic Black Sabbath frontman, has presented a whole new set of challenges for the reality TV personality.

Social media users have been quick to criticize her swift weight loss following Ozzy’s passing in July, making unkind remarks about her appearance and speculating about the 41-year-old’s potential use of drugs like Ozempic for weight loss.

The passing of Ozzy, known as the bat-eating ‘Prince of Darkness,’ was met with widespread sorrow due to the loss of the trailblazing heavy metal singer, leading to a period of mourning and a funeral procession in his hometown of Birmingham, UK.

This profound grief was most acutely felt by the Osbourne family, many of whom were present when the 76-year-old performed with Black Sabbath for the final time, just 17 days before his death from a heart attack.

Despite her sorrow, Kelly had a straightforward and biting response for her critics on social media. Her Instagram post began: “To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don’t look right.'”

She elaborated on her noticeable change in appearance, stating: “My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family. And I choose to share my content with you and share the happy side of my life not the miserable side of my life.

“So to all those people, ‘f— off.”’

Kelly, the second child of Sharon and Ozzy, has since removed the video where she discussed her significant weight loss. However, her mother addressed the video in a heartfelt interview with Piers Morgan.

During the interview, Sharon, who was visibly emotional with Ozzy’s memory still fresh, commended her daughter’s bold response to comments about her physical appearance.

She added tearfully: “She’s lost her daddy, she can’t eat right now.”

Since she appeared on her family’s reality TV show, The Osbournes, at the age of 15, Kelly has had to endure ongoing public scrutiny regarding her weight.

This aspect has often been mocked and criticized even while she was dealing with more profound issues.

In a May interview with People, Kelly shared: “I have been a drug addict, an alcoholic … I’ve been a complete mess, disrespectful to people, horrible.

“But I got more s— for being fat than I did for anything else. It’s insane,” she remarked.

In contrast, Kelly has expressed gratitude for the support she received from the public following her father’s passing, highlighting the difference from the recent negative comments.

She said: “I never could have even imagined it to be as helpful as it has been to know that we’re not alone in our grief, in our sadness and that the rest of the world loved him as much as we did.

“I haven’t seen an outpouring like that since Princess Diana died. I didn’t expect it.”
