Kelly Osbourne has declared she is “never been a California girl” as she builds a new life in England following her split from Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson.
The 41-year-old, who shares 3-year-old son Sidney with her ex-fiancé, spoke to Hello! Magazine in a cover story published Monday about her permanent relocation from Los Angeles back to her native United Kingdom. She told the outlet that being home “has changed a lot for me,” adding, “It’s been great to be home, and making a life for me and my son where I can see he’s truly happy.”
Her son is now enrolled at the same Buckinghamshire preschool she once attended as a child. “I met my best friend on my first day at school and she’s still my best friend,” Osbourne said in the interview. “Her child goes there too; she’s a bit older than my son but they’re best friends too,” She continued, “They love each other.”
Gun violence in American schools was a decisive factor in her cross-Atlantic move. “I don’t ever want to have to explain to my son what to do during a gun raid,” she told Hello!. “That’s the realistic thing that you have to do in schools in America, and to me, that’s insanity.”
The former “Fashion Police” host has not yet sold her Los Feliz, California, home, which she listed in late 2024 for $4.35 million. Her ex-fiancé Wilson, 47, had been based in his home state of Iowa.
Osbourne described the past twelve months as the “hardest” of her life, though she did not directly address the end of her four-year romance with Wilson in the magazine sitdown. March brought confirmation that the couple, who became engaged after welcoming Sidney in November 2022, had called off their engagement.
Despite the turmoil, she emphasized her motivation moving forward. “I’ve got my baby boy, and he makes me the happiest person in the world,” she told the outlet.
Earlier this month, Osbourne aired her grievances with Wilson publicly through Instagram Stories in a now-viral post. “Leave me alone. Let me heal. I can’t protect you from yourself anymore,” she wrote. “Also while I’m at it can I have my dogs back and all my possessions. Oh yeah and maybe some child support?”
Her brother Jack Osbourne offered his own assessment to The Sun last week, saying his sister is in a “happier place” post-breakup. “She’s living out by the house and she’s just doing her thing, being a mum,” he added. “She’s focusing on her and her son.”
The interview also delved into Osbourne’s grief following the July 2025 death of her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. She revealed intimate details about how the family handled his passing, telling Hello!, “We didn’t put my dad in any sort of morgue.” She explained, “He came straight home and we got to spend a few days with him and mourn with him, and make sure that everything was the way we wanted it to be.”
The Black Sabbath singer’s death brought unwelcome scrutiny of her physical appearance, with commenters attacking her thin frame during the mourning period. “I wasn’t well,” Osbourne said. “How can you navigate something so cruel when you’re so sick?” She noted her condition has since improved, stating, “I’m getting a lot better. I’ve got all the help I need and I’m grateful for the support I have in my life.”
