Kendra Wilkinson, who was once one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends, has opened up about how she intends to discuss her time at the Playboy Mansion with her daughter.
The Playboy brand, launched by Hefner in 1953, evolved from a men’s lifestyle magazine into a vast empire, famously known for the Playboy Mansion.
Since Hefner’s passing in 2017, many former Playboy bunnies and Playmates have shared their experiences from the mansion, often highlighting controversial aspects of his behavior.
Wilkinson, although never a Playboy Playmate, gained prominence through her appearances in nude photoshoots and her role on the E! reality series, The Girls Next Door.
In a conversation on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, Wilkinson described her mansion experience as both ‘heavenly’ and ‘lame’.
The 39-year-old shared: “All I did was work out, eat, work out, eat. I would be like preparing for the next party or something, ‘What am I going to wear’. That took a week out of the time.”
“What else? It was just like heaven. It was a heavenly experience for me. Like there couldn’t have been a better experience.”
Despite the positive aspects, she admitted that the sexual experiences were ‘blah’, but necessary for ‘survival’.
“I had to survive, I was in survival mode. I chose what I chose. I made the choice to move into the Playboy Mansion, have sex for money with Hugh Hefner and I actually lived an amazing five years of my life. I have no regret,” Wilkinson explained.
She insisted that she ‘had to do’ what was necessary.
When it comes to her daughter, born in May 2014, Wilkinson has already considered how to broach the topic with her.
She elaborated: “You know like, people are like how can you say that when you have a daughter. Like I’ve heard people say […] ‘What would you tell your daughter?'”
“But to tell my daughter, ‘Oh like what would I tell her?’ I wouldn’t want her to be in that position of having to choose that,” Wilkinson added, speaking about her own career choices.
Instead, she is already encouraging her 10-year-old daughter to consider attending college. While reflecting positively on her five years at the mansion, she expressed that she doesn’t wish for her daughter to take the same path, highlighting that her daughter has ‘definitely’ more opportunities.
Wilkinson wrapped up her thoughts by saying: “I had to do what I had to do and I have no regrets about that. I honestly cannot say anything bad about my experience living there. My choices were mine.”
