Kevin Hart has received appreciation online for his thoughtful reply to an unexpected question about his children during a recent interview.
During an interview with fellow comedian Ziwe on her web series, Hart was posed a question that took many by surprise.
Released on YouTube on Monday, November 24, the video features the pair discussing a variety of topics, but it was the conversation regarding the LGBTQ+ community that garnered significant attention.
A peculiar question has gained traction online: Would you prefer having a gay son or a th*t daughter? The term ‘th*t’ is a derogatory word used to describe a woman perceived as very promiscuous.
When asked by Ziwe, Hart had a straightforward response.

Hart said: “I would rather have two healthy kids, two healthy children. The fact that you have to like put them in those categories, says a lot about who you are.
“I’m just telling you, I think the real problem is in the thinker, not the answerer, the thinker, maybe you should just ponder on that for a second.
After Ziwe objected to Hart redirecting the point back to her, she asked: “Which do you give less of a f**k about? Gay rights or women’s rights?”
Hart responded: “Well, first and foremost rights are rights and you should care about them all. Everybody has a voice and everyone deserves to be heard.
“What I want to do is be a part of the change that the world desperately deserves and hopefully get us to a point where we are all on the same accord.”
It’s important to understand that the interview maintained a light-hearted tone, with both comedians sharing jokes and playing into the mock-seriousness of the setting.
Ziwe even humorously suggested that the audience take a shot of alcohol every time Hart mentioned the word ‘change’.
Despite the comedic context, Hart’s response has been lauded online, especially given his past controversies related to homophobia.
One X user commented: “Beautifully said…Imagine bringing a child into this world who also has a journey into their life and you want to control that?….”
Another expressed: “This is exactly how it should be. Healthy children, no labels, no judgment. The question was wild.”
A third added: “Perfect answer. Health and love > labels.”
While another user remarked, “F**k man, that’s Kevin for you. I knew he was this great man.”
