Khloé Kardashian has opened up about some of the particularly ‘dark’ times during her marriage to Lamar Odom, whom she first filed for divorce from in 2013.
Kardashian and Odom married in 2009, just weeks after meeting. At the time, Kardashian was 25 and Odom was 30.
To many fans they seemed inseparable, but their relationship began to unravel in 2013 when Odom’s past struggles with addiction resurfaced.
As the situation intensified, Kardashian filed for divorce from the basketball player in December that year.
However, in 2015 she halted the divorce after Odom was rushed to hospital following a near-fatal overdose.
Odom was found unconscious at a brothel in Nevada, and Kardashian went to be with him. She chose to pause the divorce process so she could help care for him during his recovery.

After he recovered, Kardashian restarted the divorce proceedings, and the split was finalized in 2016.
Odom’s turbulent period in the public eye is explored in a new Netflix documentary, Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, which arrived on the platform today (March 31).
Kardashian appears in the documentary and reflects on how difficult things became when Odom’s substance use escalated into what she describes as a “dark situation.”
“I was either looking for him in alleys, looking for him in motels,” she recalls. “I remember needing to go to hotel rooms to clean up after him so housekeeping didn’t sell a story… I felt such a responsibility to cover this up, hold it together, and protect him.”
She also recounts receiving a phone call from a woman who told her she had been sleeping with Odom.
The woman said on the phone to her: “Hi, I’ve been f**king your husband. He is so f**ked up and I need to get off this ride. Will you come pick him up?”
After Odom was discharged from hospital, Kardashian rented a home near her in Calabasas for him to stay in and arranged additional support, including a chef and a caretaker.
But during one visit, she says she noticed the smell of crack in the house, and then went to his bedroom where her concerns were confirmed.
“I just punched him in the face,” she confessed in Untold. “I just put my life on hold to f***ing take care of you.”
Following that incident, Kardashian decided to file for divorce again.
