Kim Kardashian Jokes With Presenter After Awkward Monaco Grand Prix Encounter Sparked Viral Backlash

Kim Kardashian made amends with Martin Brundle during his Singapore Grand Prix grid walk.

The SKIMS founder, 44, stood in the Ferrari garage on Sunday when the Sky F1 presenter, 65, approached her for his famed pre-race interviews. Their exchange opened with laughter and a direct reference to their awkward Monaco Grand Prix run-in three months earlier.

“Did I not know the rules? Did we get off on the wrong foot?” Kardashian asked him.

Brundle quickly waved off any tension. “No, it’s absolutely fine,” he replied.

He continued: “It’s great to have you here, Kim, at this grand prix. What are your thoughts on the exciting world of Formula 1?”

“I think it’s amazing, and fun, and wild, and something I’ve never seen before,” she answered. “It’s amazing.”

Brundle then shifted to the reason for her attendance, noting that “her man Lewis” was in “great form.” Kardashian is dating Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton, 40, and had traveled to Singapore to support him.

“He is [in great form],” she confirmed. “I’m just praying for the best tonight.”

When Brundle asked whether Hamilton felt confident, Kardashian replied: “Yes, very confident. And so am I. Just got to pray for the best.”

Hamilton ultimately finished sixth, roughly 53 seconds behind race winner Max Verstappen of Red Bull.

The friendly exchange marked a sharp turnaround from June’s Monaco Grand Prix, where Kardashian appeared to dismiss Brundle entirely during his grid walk. The presenter had approached her alongside sister Khloe Kardashian, 40, with his standard greeting: “Kim, Martin Brundle, Sky F1, how are you today?” Kardashian responded with a blank stare and a small wave before handlers ushered both sisters away. Brundle noted on camera that “normally people have a quick chat with us,” then quipped, “Kim and Khloe aren’t talking today. Allegedly, they might do later.”

That Monaco moment drew considerable online criticism toward Kardashian, with viewers interpreting her reaction as dismissive of Brundle and the event itself.

Social media observers praised the Singapore do-over. One user posted on X: “You guys can’t even complain she was so respectful,” Another wrote: “We have no idea what Martin was expecting when he approached her but after she essentially ‘apologises’ immediately for last time, they were then able to have a genuine conversation this time.”
