Kim Kardashian travels abroad for ‘life-changing’ surgery prohibited by FDA

Kim Kardashian has traveled outside the United States to undergo what she calls ‘life-changing’ surgery, currently unavailable in America due to FDA restrictions.

On Friday, August 8, the SKIMS founder shared on Instagram that she went to Mexico to receive stem cell treatment. According to Global Stem Cell Therapy, this procedure can range in cost from $4,000 to $15,000. The website notes that “However, this price can fluctuate based on the specific joint being treated and the complexity of your condition.”

Stem cell therapy involves using stem cells to repair or replace damaged tissues and organs. However, concerns exist regarding potential risks such as the weakening of the immune system.

Kardashian wrote on Instagram: “Two years ago, I tore my shoulder while lifting weights, leaving me in debilitating pain. I tried everything to find relief, then I learned about the potential of stem cell therapy and met Dr. Adeel Khan at Eterna.

“His team treated my shoulder with Dezawa Muse cells, and the results were immediate. I regained full range of motion, and my shoulder has felt completely normal ever since.”

Due to these positive results, the reality TV star decided to pursue further treatment for chronic back pain that had plagued her for years.

She continued: “I experienced relief right away, and the unbearable pain is finally gone. If you’re struggling with back pain, I can’t recommend this treatment enough – it’s transformed my life when I thought my body was breaking down.

“Of course, everyone is different, and I’m just sharing what has worked for me lately. Definitely do your own homework and talk to medical professionals.”

Kardashian acknowledged that this treatment is not available in the US due to safety and long-term side effect concerns.

“Since Muse stem cells aren’t yet accessible in the US, I had to travel to Mexico to be treated by Dr. Khan’s team,” the SKIMS founder mentioned.

“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity and resources to pursue this healing, and I pray the science continues to evolve so more people can benefit.”

Kardashian wrapped up her Instagram post with: “Here’s to hope, healing, and the future of science.”

This announcement follows Kardashian’s brand launch of a face wrap, a new and controversial addition to her SKIMS shapewear line.

The ‘Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap,’ priced at $48, is designed to be worn overnight and claims to enhance cheekbones and jawline.

However, not everyone has embraced this product. British TV host Katie Piper criticized the face wrap, equating it to the bandages she had to wear following an acid attack orchestrated by her former boyfriend.

Piper commented: “So when I saw this latest offering from them for women, I was just like, oh my God. No, please, people – don’t imprison your face in this contraption. Don’t be so cruel and unkind to your face.”
