A video of King Charles III’s irate reaction to an exploding pen during a signing ceremony at Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland has gone viral.
It happened as he signed his name to a book and inquired what day it was.
Charles gave Camilla the pen to see if she could fix it as the ink began to spill all over the room. He fumbled in his pocket for a napkin and said, “Oh god, I hate this.”
Others in the room raced to help as Camilla remarked, “Oh look, it’s going everywhere. Hang on.”
Charles stormed off, ranting about how extremely annoying it was.
He complained, “I can’t stand this bloody thing! What they do, every stinking time,” while Camilla quietly took a seat to sign the book.
“It’s been reported that prior to becoming King, Charles was known for carrying his own fountain pen to events in order to sign the customary visitor’s books on royal visits,” the Belfast Telegraph posted. “It appears this may be a custom he will want to continue.”
The viral video follows another one when he was recently in the news for furiously gesturing at assistants to clear his desk.
