Latest adult content analysis uncovers top three searched genres, and they may surprise you

The emergence of the internet has revolutionized different aspects of our lives, from how we handle tedious waits at the bank by gazing at our phones, to our private moments of solitude, where we also engage with our phones.

Given the significant amount of time we spend in front of screens, content providers have gained the ability to understand a lot about our preferences based on our content consumption habits. Around this time of year, some major internet platforms enjoy sharing these insights with us.

This was evident for music lovers recently (3 December) when Spotify released its Wrapped feature, revealing the songs that topped their playlists throughout the year.

While many were eager to showcase their top music genres of 2025, such as hyperpop or jazz fusion, it’s likely that fewer individuals would want to disclose their preferred categories of adult content or their most-watched adult performer.

A recent year-end report from a porn company sheds light on the search interests among users over the past year.

Unlike Spotify, this report does not provide personalized data, sparing users from discovering the exact amount of time spent viewing adult content annually.

As Pornhub prepares to release its annual data summary soon, Ersties, an ethical and female-focused porn company, has shared its analysis of user trends in 2025.

In its Ethical Porn Trends Report, Ersties highlighted an increased global interest in content that prioritizes intimacy, innovative game-show themes, and fantasies driven by performers, rooted in transparency and ethical production practices.

According to the German-based company, they prioritize consent and ethics in their production process, engaging extensively with performers about their comfort levels and preferences.

This focus does not translate to purely softcore content; many users seek something more stimulating than traditional approaches.

The top searched category on their site in 2025 was ‘anal’. Ersties noted that viewers gravitated towards scenes where participants openly discussed boundaries, preparation, and pleasure indicators, indicating a preference for consensual and realistic portrayals over the more intense or stylized representations found on other platforms.

Following this trend of ethical consumption, the next most-viewed categories were ‘squirt’ and ‘threesome’.

They also noted emerging search trends, with a growing curiosity for previously niche topics.

The company observed a ‘noticeable rise in searches for more niche, playful, and highly specific interests’, including activities like pegging and foot-fetish content.

They commented: “As more individuals feel at ease exploring exactly what appeals to them, Ersties continues to offer a space for those interests to be pursued without judgment and with full transparency.”
