For those curious about the situation of Pedro Casares and his residence, we have a significant update.
Pedro became an internet sensation recently after a news segment showed him securing the roof of his Orlando home with straps to brace for Hurricane Milton.
These straps weren’t just affixed to his lawn; they were anchored with hooks buried eight feet deep in cement.
Admiration for Pedro’s forward-thinking approach spread, and people have been eagerly seeking updates on the Puerto Rican native to know how he and his home fared after Hurricane Milton’s arrival on Wednesday (October 10).
One YouTube commenter insisted, “To not follow up on this story after the hurricane would be journalistic malpractice,” as others declared themselves ‘100% invested in this story’.
Fortunately, those hoping for news have now received it, as both Pedro’s daughter and the journalist who interviewed him have provided updates. You’ll be glad to hear that Pedro’s unique hurricane preparations were successful.
CNN’s Brian Able shared on Twitter: “Update for those asking from Pedro’s daughter Raisa: ‘We’re doing good just went outside our home just now to clean up and see if any damage (has) been done and nothing not even a shingle lifted but other than that just tiny damages nothing crazy.'”
In addition, Raisa posted a video showcasing the minor damage their home sustained.
She mentioned in the TikTok clip: “Thankful we’re okay. [The] house is good; no crazy damages or anything.”
Raisa expressed their gratitude for being ‘very blessed’ to have emerged relatively unscathed from Hurricane Milton.
Later in the video, she noted that her father isn’t in a hurry to remove the roof straps, considering it’s still hurricane season in Florida.
Viewers of Raisa’s video have shared their relief over the safety of her, her father, and their home.
One user commented, “That was a good idea. Your dad is smart man. I’m happy to see your safe.”
Another added: “I just knew they were gonna work when I seen you translating for your papa on the news! Baby that’s a Padre who is a REAL handy man.”
