Liam Neeson shares unexpected response from intimacy coordinator to ‘steamy’ scenes with Pamela Anderson

Liam Neeson recounted the reaction of the intimacy coordinator during a steamy scene between him and Pamela Anderson in their upcoming film.

The dynamic pair are set to star in the forthcoming Naked Gun movie, which is scheduled to premiere on August 1.

The film is a crime comedy that centers on Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. (played by Neeson), who follows in the footsteps of his father to lead the Police Squad and save the world.

This latest release marks the fifth installment in The Naked Gun series, which originally debuted in 1989.

The cast of the new movie features actors such as Busta Rhymes, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, Liza Koshy, Cody Rhodes, and CCH Pounder.

The filming for this reboot began last year, and Neeson and Anderson seem to have developed a great rapport.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Neeson stated that he is now ‘madly in love’ after collaborating with Anderson.

Anderson, on the other hand, referred to him as the ‘perfect gentleman,’ noting: “He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him.” Aww, you two!

Their chemistry on screen was quite palpable, to the point where their intimacy coordinator had to step away.

In Hollywood, intimacy coordinators are commonly employed to ensure that scenes involving ‘physical intimacy’ are conducted safely, respectfully, and with mutual consent.

Neeson shared how their coordinator had to leave during their steamy bedroom scenes, saying: “I’d never had one before. But she was in the background. There was no kind of, ‘OK! Excuse me!'”

The intensity of the scene was overwhelming for her, prompting her to tell the actors: “I can’t take this! This is too hot for me. I’m going for coffee.”

The professional relationship between Neeson and Anderson continues to flourish, as Anderson told Entertainment Weekly: “I think I have a friend forever in Liam. And we definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving, and he’s a good guy.”

She further remarked: “Our chemistry was clear from the start. We have the utmost respect for one another.”

Anderson also recounted a ‘romantic dinner’ they had together, albeit with their assistants in attendance.

“I invited him and his assistant over for romantic dinners with me and my assistant so our relationship stayed ‘professionally romantic’ during filming,” she mentioned.

Regarding the film’s release, she stated: “I’m hoping people love it. We had so much fun making it. I think it’s timely for a beloved comedy like this. I’m a fan of the originals. As Liam says, ‘We could all use a good giggle.’ I pray we do more.”

The Naked Gun is set to hit theaters on August 1.
