Lil Tay has disclosed her earnings from OnlyFans after joining the platform upon reaching the age of 18.
For those unfamiliar with Lil Tay, she gained notoriety at about nine years old when videos surfaced online showcasing her boasting about her affluence.
Her ostentatious lifestyle irritated many, turning her into a controversial figure on the internet.
Public perception shifted after an announcement on her social media suggested she had died at 16.
Troublingly, TMZ later exposed this as a ruse, with Lil Tay clarifying she was ‘safe and alive’ and that her accounts had been hacked.
The misleading Instagram post, which also erroneously claimed Lil Tay’s brother had passed away, stated: “It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing.
“We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock. Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief.
“During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation.
“Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplacable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”
The teenager countered the claim, informing TMZ: “It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess.
“My Instagram account was compromised by a third party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not ‘Claire Hope’.”
Following this event, she largely stayed out of the spotlight until being spotted by paparazzi at LAX airport in 2023.
With so much public interest and controversy surrounding her life, it surprised many when she next appeared, announcing her OnlyFans account.
Indeed, Lil Tay has reached adulthood and, following in the footsteps of Bhad Bhabie, celebrated by launching a page for mature content.
She informed her 2.3 million followers on August 3 about her impressive earnings in a brief period, committing to keep her OnlyFans account active only for 24 hours after her 18th birthday.
In a video, she declared: “$1 million in a couple hours. I’m still the youngest one doing it for all the grown ass haters who’ve been hating since I was nine years old, look at me now.”
She subsequently shared a screenshot of her earnings, totaling $1,024,298.09.
The caption stated: “Not bad for 3 hours. We broke the f**k out of that OnlyFans record.”
Nonetheless, there is widespread concern regarding her participation on the platform, primarily due to her age.
One person on X remarked: “Grown ass men waited for this child to turn 18. That’s just disgusting. This girl has been exploited her whole life.”
Another commented: “It’s so sad. She’s become the archetype of everything wrong with our world today.”
Someone else added: “Nah, need to lock up all the pedos who subbed and sent money.”
