Lisa Kudrow explains why she’s done with botox after experiencing strange side effects

Lisa Kudrow has explained her reasoning for leaving Botox behind after using it for a few years.

Lisa Kudrow has spoken candidly in a new interview about her relationship with aging, self-confidence, and the pressure she’s felt around her looks.

In a conversation with the Hollywood Reporter, the 62-year-old said she’s planning to stop using Botox after first trying it at 60.

Kudrow explained that the cosmetic treatment didn’t sit well with her and appeared to come with effects she didn’t expect.

She said: “I think it contributed to my eye irritation and this weird pattern on my forehead, so I’m probably done with it now anyway.”

Even so, she acknowledged she has mixed feelings about stepping away from it, especially when she thinks about what she might see in the mirror as she gets older.

She added: “I am scared of having to see myself looking like my grandmother one day, but I’m excited to play older roles.”

Kudrow has previously been open about other cosmetic work, including the nose job she had while still in school.

In a 2013 interview with The Saturday Evening Post, she described how much the procedure shifted her self-perception and boosted her confidence.

She said: “I went from, in my mind, hideous, to not hideous.

“I did it the summer before going to a new high school. So there were plenty of people who wouldn’t know how hideous I looked before.”

Alongside discussing her personal life, Kudrow also reflected on her career — including her series The Comeback — and explained why the upcoming third season is expected to be the show’s final chapter.

The comedy first premiered in 2005, returned for a second season in 2014, and is set to come back again this year for season three.

Speaking on it, Kudrow said: “We need to say ‘third and final.

“I don’t know if I’ll want to do it again in 10 years, so let’s be done, that way no one is asking what’s next or whether we will even want to do more.

“The most respectful thing we can do for the audience and for the character is make it a three-part story. It’s a trilogy, and this is the end.”

Over time, the series has built a devoted following, and news of a third season prompted longtime viewers to resurface and celebrate what came before.

Kudrow is set to return as Valerie Cherish, with Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman, and Damian Young also coming back for the new season.
