Bug Hall Barnett, known for his role as Alfalfa in the 1994 film *The Little Rascals*, has shared insights into his life after stepping away from Hollywood. He adopted the name ‘Barnett’ in honor of his stepfather and became known for his transformation into a ‘radical Catholic extremist’ following a conversion to Catholicism in 2013.
Hall’s acting career included voice work in Disney’s *Hercules* (1997) and a role in the Disney Channel Original Movie *Get a Clue* alongside Lindsay Lohan. He also appeared on TV shows like *Charmed*, *Criminal Minds*, and *90210*. However, in 2020, Hall decided to leave Hollywood after working on *This Is The Year*, which was executive produced by Selena Gomez.

Now 40, Hall leads a life vastly different from his Hollywood days. He has embraced a radical Catholic lifestyle, which he described to MailOnline as one where he ‘self-canceled’ due to conflicting views with the industry, particularly on topics like abortion and gay marriage.
Hall criticized Hollywood for promoting a life of ‘manipulation’ and has since taken a ‘vow of poverty,’ surrendering the wealth he accumulated as a child actor to live according to his religious beliefs. He remarked, “It really wasn’t all that great of a sacrifice compared to what our Lord had planned to give me in return. The fruits of that decision to live this radical lifestyle.”
Now residing in Arkansas, Hall lives on a 10-acre property with his family, which includes his younger brother, their mother, stepfather, his wife, and six children. They are reported to be constructing both a home and a church on the property.

Looking to the future, Hall aspires to live a life with minimal financial dependency, planning for a hydro-electrical dam and only taking occasional jobs when necessary. His children are homeschooled, and formal education or college is something they will be ‘strongly discouraged’ from pursuing.
In 2020, Hall faced legal trouble when he was arrested for possessing inhalants. His extreme Catholic views and parenting methods, including advocating for ‘severe punishment’ for his children, have drawn significant criticism online. Nonetheless, Hall asserts that he ‘self-canceled’ to freely express what he believes is ‘true and good.’
