Lizzo has recently shared an update regarding the legal challenges she is currently confronting.
In 2023, it came to light that the singer known for her hit ‘About Damn Time’ was being sued by three of her former dancers who accused her of weight shaming and sexual harassment.
In response to these claims, Lizzo issued a statement refuting the allegations as false.
“These last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing,” she expressed at the time. “My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.”
The artist further stated: “These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”

The lawsuit was filed by dancers Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez, and Crystal Williams.
Lizzo and her legal team have been actively contesting the lawsuit, and recently, the 37-year-old achieved a legal victory.
Updating her 11.5 million Instagram followers today (December 15), Lizzo stated: “The fat shaming allegations against me have been officially dropped by my accusers. They conceded that it had no merit in court.
“There was no evidence that I fired them because they gained weight. Because it never happened. Now the truth is finally out.”
Lizzo further clarified that their termination was unrelated to their weight but was due to ‘taking a private video of [her] without [her] consent and sending it off to ex employees’.
“I have never fired an employee for losing weight,” she asserted. “I have only encouraged and supported people with bigger bodies and shared my platform with them.”
Lizzo mentioned that the allegations have ‘haunted’ her since they were made and expressed the difficulty of ‘suffering in silence’ as her lawyers advised her to remain silent.
She concluded her statement by saying: “I am still in a legal battle. I am not settling. I will be fighting every single claim until the truth is out.”
As reported by Complex, the secret recordings were allegedly a critical factor in undermining the case of Lizzo’s former dancers. The Superior Court judge in the case determined that Davis’ firing was justified due to this, rather than being related to her weight.
The dancers also made other allegations, claiming they were forced to interact with nude sex performers at Bananenbar in Amsterdam.
