Llamas Send Authorities On A Wild Chase Through Arizona Streets

In a chasing scene straight out of a movie, two free-spirited llamas were seen running from a band of law enforcers through the streets of Sun City, Arizona, on Thursday afternoon.

Yes, you read it right. Llamas.

In a live coverage by ABC 15, the dynamic duo — one black, one white — led the nearly 20-minute pursuit that had the entire nation glued to their seats.

As onlookers watched in shock and disbelief, the two llamas tore through traffic, stopping for no one. Behind them, sheriff’s officers were hot in pursuit. But the llamas had no intention of slowing down.

Soon, the black llama was captured, but urged his companion to continue without him. But it was only a matter of time before the white llama was captured too. His run ended after being lassoed by a group of men on a pickup truck.

AzCentral.com reported that the the llamas were participating in animal therapy at an assisted living facility. The animals had just arrived in a trailer when they got spooked and managed to escape. In the end, Lt. Brandon Jones said that onlookers were to be thanked for their eventual capture, “If it weren’t for (their help) we wouldn’t have been able to catch them,” he told AzCentral.com.
