Lori Loughlin Files for Divorce From Mossimo Giannulli After 28 Years of Marriage

Lori Loughlin has officially filed for divorce from Mossimo Giannulli.

The “Full House” alum, 61, submitted the paperwork on Sept. 4, citing irreconcilable differences and confirming their separation date as Aug. 31. The filing came just weeks before reports said on Oct. 2, that the couple had been living apart.

In her documents, Loughlin confirmed the couple originally signed a prenuptial agreement on Oct. 28, 1997, the same year they wed. That agreement was later amended on Aug. 11, 2015, roughly five years before the college admissions scandal that would strain their marriage to the breaking point.

The Hallmark actress asked that spousal support be determined at a later time. She wants separate properties, assets and debts divided according to their prenup and is requesting that Giannulli, 62, cover her attorney’s fees and costs.

“Lori and Mossimo are living apart now,” a rep for Loughlin said in early October. “There are no legal proceedings underway.” That statement preceded the public revelation of the Sept. 4 filing by several weeks.

The couple, who married on Nov. 27, 1997, share two daughters: influencer Olivia Jade, 26, and Isabella Rose, 27. Since the separation became public, both daughters have reportedly struggled with the family fracture but have refused to choose between parents.

“They both love their parents and just want them to be happy,” a source said in October 2025, insisting the girls don’t feel any “drama or resentment.” The source added that both daughters “aren’t taking sides” in the split.

Shortly after news of the separation broke, sources said that reconciliation was essentially off the table. “People around Lori and Mossimo have known they have been going through a really hard time in the last year,” an insider told the outlet. “This isn’t a shock to people around them. It has been a rough time for Lori. She is devastated.”

That same source noted that Loughlin had initially initiated the separation hoping distance might salvage the marriage. She “thought a break could help,” the insider explained, but the couple ultimately proved “not on the same page” anymore.

The marriage’s collapse traces directly back to the 2019 college admissions scandal, when Loughlin and Giannulli became two of its most recognizable faces. In May 2020, both pleaded guilty to paying $500,000 to secure their daughters’ admission to the University of Southern California as purported crew recruits, despite neither girl having rowed competitively.

Loughlin served two months in federal prison in Dublin, California, and was released in December 2020. Giannulli completed a five-month sentence in Lompoc, California, in April 2021. The disparity in their sentences — his significantly longer — reportedly fed lingering resentment.

“The school scandal was a turning point, and they never really connected or recovered their relationship after that,” a source said on Jan. 9. The source added that Loughlin felt Giannulli “got her involved” in the scheme. “She didn’t fully blame him, but he spearheaded it,” the source said, noting that the “90210” actress “never fully forgave him and never fully got over it.”

Since the separation, both have been linked to new romantic interests. Loughlin was photographed embracing actor James Tupper one day before news of her split became public. Giannulli has been spotted multiple times with 32-year-old stylist Hannah Harrison.

Loughlin’s divorce filing now makes formal what those close to the couple have long anticipated, converting a private fracture into a legal dissolution after 28 years of marriage.
