Luigi Mangione’s representatives have clarified the situation following speculation that the accused murderer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was involved in a sex tape allegedly valued at $500,000.
Mangione, 26, is in custody, facing charges of murder as an act of terrorism, weapons, and stalking offenses related to Thompson’s death on December 4, 2024.
Pleading not guilty, Mangione is scheduled to appear in federal court on March 19. Despite being incarcerated, rumors about the accused have circulated outside.
An article published earlier this month claimed Mangione possessed a collection of sex tapes described as having ‘cinema level’ quality and ‘perfect lighting’.
The source of these claims was not named, but Kevin Blatt, a consultant who assists celebrities with sex tape deals, informed The Sun that there was no substance to the claims of a high-quality video.
Blatt did not dismiss the possibility of a sex tape entirely, noting that someone had approached him seeking his assistance in securing a half-million dollar deal for such a tape.
Blatt suggested the video he was aware of was of low quality, a claim he spent six weeks verifying and assessing.
In response to these accusations, Mangione’s lawyer, Karen Agnifilo, has firmly denied the rumors of explicit videos.
In a statement to the Mail Online, she remarked: “Hopefully everyone realizes these are fake and not Luigi.”
Blatt further discussed his sex tape experiences with The Sun, disputing the notion of Mangione having a collection of such content.
He claimed: “I’m known as the number one sex tape broker in the country, so if I haven’t come across a tape, it’s pretty safe to say it doesn’t exist. So I don’t believe that he has 20 tapes out there.
“If there were 20, I definitely would have seen more than I have. And I don’t believe he was making videos with women.
“The video I have seen is not high production stuff – it’s pretty seedy, solo stuff that looks like he recorded it in a bathroom at his parents’ house and in a bedroom.”
Blatt also indicated that he had “made a couple of enquiries” regarding the alleged tape, but “nobody wanted to touch it”.
Agnifilo’s refutation comes as Mangione faces the potential of the death penalty if convicted of the charges levied against him.
