MAGA loyalist and longtime Trump supporter calls movement ‘deader than dead’

A devoted supporter of Donald Trump has said the MAGA movement is now “deader than ever,” adding that she no longer “recognize[s]” the president.

Although the 47th president returned to the White House 14 months ago, his second stint in office has already been marked by a series of polarising debates.

Right now, much of the controversy is centred on Iran, following events that began last month after a joint US-Israel strike on the country’s military locations.

Trump’s role in the widening Middle East conflict has split opinion, including among some of his most vocal backers, with criticism coming from parts of his own base.

Media figure Carrie Prejean Boller discussed the issue during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where she delivered a scathing assessment of Trump and the MAGA movement.

“I’ve been a loyal supporter of the president for almost 20 years,” she said. “This goes back to when I was 21 years old and I was Miss California at the Miss USA pageant. And I’ve known him – I consider him a dear friend – and I will tell you right now, I do not recognize our president.”

In comments that appeared to reference Washington’s coordination with Israel regarding Iran, Prejean Boller went further, alleging that outside influence is shaping US decision-making.

“I think that we are an occupied nation. I think that a foreign country has occupied our government. And we are seeing now that this president of the United States of America is being influenced by a foreign government.

“And MAGA, let me tell you right now, MAGA is dead. It is deader than dead. And Americans are furious. We do not recognize President Donald J Trump anymore.”

Prejean Boller has also written an open letter addressed to Trump, which followed accusations that she had “hijacking” a hearing focused on antisemitism.

“I thought MAGA stood for defending Americans who speak their convictions without fear of punishment,” Prejean Boller penned in the letter to Trump.

“I thought MAGA was putting America first, not Israel. Today I struggle to recognize the movement you started.”

Meanwhile, Trump has recently taken aim at certain US partners, including Nato and the UK, amid reports they were unwilling to assist in efforts connected to securing the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking from the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump insisted he wasn’t seeking Nato support.

“But they should’ve been there,” he added.

He also renewed criticism of the UK, arguing the US’ closest ally has not played a significant enough role in the conflict.

Trump said the the relationship between the UK and the US was ‘always the best’ until ‘[Prime Minister] Keir [Starmer] came along’.
