As Americans eagerly await the results of the next Presidential election in 2028, a question that continues to capture public interest is: Is Donald Trump becoming more orange?
The consensus seems to be affirmative—Trump’s complexion appears to be taking on a deeper bronze hue as he campaigns against Kamala Harris. His use of bronzer seems more evident than ever before.
The jokes and memes about Trump’s orange complexion have been around since he first assumed office in 2017, but now it seems his color is even more vibrant, resembling a “mega clementine.”
Despite his efforts to win votes, his distinct orange tint has been drawing significant attention.
As time progresses, people can’t help but notice how his skin color becomes increasingly vibrant, sparking widespread conversation.
So, what could be the reason for this pronounced orange shade?
Speculation ranges from sunbed use to excessive fake tanning, with various opinions circulating.
In 2018, former aide Omarosa Manigault suggested in her book “Unhinged” that Trump once dismissed a staff member for not correctly setting up a tanning bed at the White House.
Former FBI director James Comey also noted in his memoir “A Higher Loyalty” that Trump’s “face appeared slightly orange, with bright white half-moons under his eyes where I assumed he placed small tanning goggles.”
Celebrity makeup artist Safia Cox offers her viewpoint on this phenomenon.
Safia explained to The Mirror: “I think he uses some sort of fake tan or tinted moisturiser with a bronzer. I 100% do not think it’s sun beds as it would be a completely different tone.”
“I think it’s some sort of fake tan or some sort of tinted moisturizer with bronzer, and he’s then used powder with it. It’s definitely some sort of cream product that he uses and has probably mattified it after because it’s so orange,” she continued.
She noted: “You can see the rim around his face. If you look closely at his hairline, it’s very pale, and that’s not from sunbeds; he’s slapping some sort of cream product on.”
While Trump’s increasingly vibrant hue seems to be the result of some product, Safia speculates it could reflect a sense of insecurity.
She suggested: “I think his makeup has changed over the years, and I think it as he’s got older and potentially a little more insecure. The ever-changing orange hue has become the subject of many internet discussions and memes – with people wondering why he likes to be so orange.”
The expert highlighted that Trump is frequently photographed, suggesting he might think it’s an appealing look.
She also mentioned that some individuals claim he increases his use of tanning products when stressed.
“If you look at photos of him towards the end of campaigns, he’s much more orange,” she said.
Similar to the “eyebrow-blindness” trend on TikTok, Trump seems to experience tan blindness.
Safia commented: “He has orange blindness or fake tan blindness, and I don’t think he realises.”
“It’s not a nice bronze, he doesn’t look like he’s just hopped off a plane he just looks like he’s layered on fake tan. It’s bizarre; he’s either really insecure, and it’s for confidence and thinking he looks good, or he’s being clever and doing it to get people to talk about him.”
