A UK mom has been hauled up in front of the school board after her 5-year-old daughter, Annelise, couldn’t stop giggling at her new teacher’s name.
A special school meeting had to be called because Annelise just couldn’t handle the fact that her teacher’s name was, er, Miss Butt.
Mom Priscilla had met Miss Butt at a parents’ evening and told the teacher how funny Annelise found her name, saying that Miss Butt “didn’t seem phazed”.
But then Priscilla was asked to come into the school and discuss the “problem” with senior teachers.
“When I received a call from the school, I was appalled at how pathetic and petty it was,” said Priscilla, “I wasn’t making fun of her name at all.”
We think it’s pretty funny though.
But Priscilla is not happy with the way the school handled it, saying: “I felt intimidated in the meeting and they made me feel like I was in the wrong.”
At the time of writing, Priscilla is considering moving Annelise to a different class, as it’s a bit awkward between teacher and pupil now. Talk about a bum deal…
